BTS Victory Monument | Bangkok Baan Kuay Tiew Ruathong Boat Noodle | The Street Ratchada Branch
The most famous street food, Thai Boat Noodle. Baan Kuay Tiew Ruathong, the well known Thai boat noodle restaurant located near BTS Victory Monument. I am visiting their branch in Esplanade Ratchada, a mall located next to the The Street Ratchada Night Market. Not much tourist, still lots of queue during lunch peak hour.
The sign by the store entrance, a bowl costs 20 baht, which is a bit more expensive than the 16 baht sold at the main branch, but it is still worth it, after all, there is air conditioning here.
During lunch hour, I started to seeing queues of people. The customers are all local Thais, not much tourist.
Thai people have relatively small stomach. Girls often eat two bowls, while most guys eat more than three bowls.
I once ate with a female friend, who could eat ten bowls at a time. I admire her big appetite.
There are a wide variety of noodles on the menu, while a small bowls costs 20 baht and large bowls costs 80 baht.
Four types of noodles, including beef/pork noodle soup, Tom Yum noodle soup, Niangdoufu soup noodles, and dry noodles, with choices of beef and pork.
In fact, if you are not used to the spicy and sour soup which is Tom Yum soup, you can also get rice noodles with clear soup.
Recommanded dishes, shrimp dumpling, Deep Fried Shrimp, and Fried Spring Rolls.
Also pork and beef balls with dipping sauce, boiled fish and fried pork dumplings. The pork dumplings are definitely my favorite. I used to soak it in the soup and as it turns soft, every bit of it is both crunchy and soft and juicy from the soup.
Coconut milk jelly on each table it's sweet and rich in coconut milk.
I ordered ice with water.
Bean sprouts and Basil leaves. All looking very fresh.
I ordered a bowl of pork boat noodles without the offal. A bowl of egg noodles in clear soup.
Generally, beef or boiled meat will serve with mixed meats and offals. If you are not used to offals, you can tell the staff in advance only with meats.
Close-up shot, there's pork, pork balls, and water spinach. fried lard and garlic oil.
Fried lard is really fragrant, and soup is rich. I like this kind of soup better. It doesn't tastes sour, because I have tried most other boat noodle soups, they often taste slightly sour.
This soup has a very fragrant, you can taste the chinese herbs in the soup.
Only one mouth full.
Added a lot of bean sprouts, basil leaves and thai chili.
Another bowl I ordered clear soup with egg noodle. I got minced pork, barbecued pork, meat balls, fried dumplings and fied shrimp ball slice.
Can you belive it's only 20 Baht a bowl!
Also added baen sprouts. Bean sprouts are crunchy along with noodles and porks.
Other dishes costs less than 100 Baht.
Many seasonings and ingredients on the cooking area. Staffs are busy preparing boat noodles for customers.
