Xi’an Breakfast Exploration|8 RMB Beef Soup + 1.5 RMB Scallion Pancake, A Heartwarming Street Delight

Xi’an Breakfast Exploration|8 RMB Beef Soup + 1.5 RMB Scallion Pancake, A Heartwarming Street Delight

On the streets of Xi’an, some unassuming small shops can offer the most comforting flavors at incredibly low prices. Recently, I discovered a local breakfast spot tucked away in an alley of the old city. I ordered a bowl of beef soup along with a scallion pancake, and the total cost was less than 10 RMB—truly affordable and satisfying.

The small shop is quite spacious, with a simple and clean interior, yet filled with an enticing aroma.

I ordered a bowl of beef soup along with a scallion pancake.

When the steaming beef soup arrived, its broth was clear and bright, exuding a subtle fragrance of spices and the fresh aroma of beef.

Inside the soup, besides the tender beef slices, there were vermicelli and tofu skin. The vermicelli soaked up the broth, giving a smooth and springy texture, while the tofu skin was soft with a slight chewiness, adding depth and richness to each bite. Sipping the soup was a delight—sweet, savory, warming, and refreshing at the same time.

The accompanying scallion pancake, priced at only 1.5 RMB, was thin yet crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The strong scallion aroma made it irresistible, especially when dipped into the soup. The combination of the flavorful beef soup and the crunchy, fragrant pancake created a truly satisfying street breakfast experience.

What’s even more surprising is that this beef soup and scallion pancake combo costs less than 10 RMB in total! In a food city like Xi’an, finding such authentic flavors at such an affordable price is truly a bargain.

The surrounding alleyways are full of the charm of old-town life. After finishing the soup and pancake, you can take a leisurely stroll and soak in the local atmosphere. For anyone interested in exploring authentic Xi’an cuisine, this breakfast spot is definitely not to be missed.
